Concept and Inspiration
This photo was taken on a nature hike near Mount Rainier in 2023 and reflects my interest in capturing delicate moments in the natural world. I was struck by the contrast between the butterfly’s vibrant wings and the soft whites and greens of the flowers and foliage. The goal was to preserve a sense of stillness and intimacy using a shallow depth of field and natural lighting.
Objective
This was a personal project focused on improving my manual photography skills, particularly in outdoor macro work with a prime lens.
